We need your generous donation!
Arizona South Asians For Safe Families
ASAFSF
ASAFSF is experiencing a growing need for services.  We rely on your generous
tax-deductible donations to help us assist families better.  Contributions from
community members in and out-of-state, grants from John C. Lincoln
Foundation, Indo-US Foundation, Rajasthani Association of Phoenix are a great
help to us!   You can help too, and contribute to a worthwhile cause.  If you are
unable to participate in our
events this year, you can still help!

Some of our services include the following:

  • Support: a toll-free Helpline (Live since December 2006): To date a
total of 84 contacts, on the toll-free line, 8 referrals from local shelters &
the Arizona Coalition of Domestic Violence, 7 from out-of-state DV
organizations, and 4 from Prosecutor’s offices. Every new call brings
several follow-up calls and referrals. Helpline and Website are important
tools for ASAFSF services. On average, we concurrently serve 2 – 3
    active cases.

  • Manage Direct Services: Includes financial assistance for child care,
rent, lawyers’ fees, transportation, emergent personal needs. Our family
advocates accompany and support victims and their dependent children to
courts, medical appointments, lawyer appointments and much more.
Victim abuse ranges from mental, verbal, & financial abuse to severe
physical abuse. Confidentiality has to be maintained for victims’ and
    advocates’ safety.

  • Conduct Training: ASAFSF organizes general and culture-specific and
legal advocacy training for members and volunteers. Direct Service
providers must have DV 101-40 hours training. Modified training is
available for volunteers in non-direct service areas.

  • Parenting Support Team assists victims of abuse to readjust to positive
    parenting.

  • Community Outreach: Major community outreach events are held each
year. Chai Chat (Tea with ASAFSF) is a community driven grassroots
outreach project since 2007. It focuses on small groups hosted by
    community members.
